5th Rosenheim Colloquium
Surveillance of Environmental Impact
How concepts like Carbon Footprint Concept, CO2 Certificates and FSC / PEFC perform - what do these concepts mean to the woodworking industries?
Shrinking resources and global warming combined with a rapidly growing population, increasing individual use of these resources by almost everybody and last but not least the necessity of the modern economies for constant growth is definitely the most urging challenge for the world’s future. The solution of this multilemma – if there is any – can only be attained by a similar complex pattern of measures, technologies and adequate behaviour of every individual. But how should we monitor the effect and how should we set guidelines for appropriate behaviour in such a complex environment?
The Carbon Footprint Concept, the trade with CO2 Certificates and surveillance concepts like FSC / PEFC are the most common ideas to handle this problem. The 5th Rosenheim Colloquium will highlight the capability and limits of these concepts and their significance for the woodworking industries on a global scale.
