Degree program Wood Technology
General course of studies
The general duration of studies for the Bachelor of Engineering amounts to 7 Semesters and for the Higher Diploma Degree Course it amounts to 8 Semesters.
Both the Bachelor and the Higher Diploma Degree courses consist of a preliminary study block followed by a main study block.
The preliminary block of studies consists of the first 2 Semesters and successful completion is required to proceed with the main study blocks of the respective degree courses.
Preliminary placements need to be completed outside the Semesters and need to be completed before starting the 5th Semester.
The main block of studies of the Higher Diploma Degree course consists of 5 Semesters whereas the main studies of the Bachelor of Engineering only consist of 4 Semesters. In both degree courses the student will be required to do 18 weeks of professional placement during the 6th Semester. In the final semester the students will write their thesis which completes the main block of studies.
