Electrical engineering and information technology (EIT) keeps it running and makes our lives easier with future-oriented technologies.

The EIT degree programme prepares students for countless career opportunities in research, development, manufacturing and technical marketing - from communications, automation or medical technology to the aerospace industry and regenerative energy supply. The good laboratory equipment, motivated professors as well as the best industry contacts distinguish electrical engineering studies at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences.

After studying the basics of electrical engineering and information technology, students specialise in automation and communication technology in a scientific and practice-oriented way. The fields of robotics, software technology and chip development as well as artificial intelligence play a central role.

The study programme lasts a total of seven semesters and includes six theoretical semesters, as well as a basic internship and a work-related internship.
The basic internship can be completed either in advance or during the lecture-free periods, the study-related internship either in the form of a practical study semester or during the lecture-free periods.

The courses in the first two semesters teach the basics of mathematics, physics and electrical engineering and information technology before core engineering subjects are taught from the third semester onwards. The programme concludes with the writing of the Bachelor's thesis and an accompanying Bachelor's seminar.

Career opportunities for electrical engineers

Electrical engineering is one of the three largest branches of industry in Germany and offers excellent career prospects for its graduates - far beyond national borders. Whereas the discipline used to be dominated by men, today more and more women can be found in electrotechnical fields of activity, in some cases in leading positions.

The German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE) expects the importance of electrical engineering and information technology to continue to grow in the coming years. This will not only affect the classic core industries, but also more and more user industries in the industrial and service sectors. This also increases the demand for electrical and information technology engineers.

Young graduates in this field are hardly ever unemployed. According to industry experts, the annual demand for EIT engineers exceeds the number of graduates.

After graduation, young EIT graduates join companies in the communications technology, medical technology, automotive, semiconductor technology, automation technology or aerospace industries, for example.
